アントニオ・グテーレス国連事務総長は8月6日、広島平和記念式典に出席した後に、岸田文雄総理大臣と広島平和記念資料館を訪れ被爆の実相に触れる機会を持ちました。

事務総長は、記帳には次のようなメッセージを寄せました。

“It is an honour to stand with the people of Hiroshima on this important day, from this sacred space. The lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the memory of those who lost their lives on that terrible day 77 years ago, will never be forgotten. On behalf of the women and men of the United Nations, I pledge to keep their memory alive, and continue working towards a more peaceful world, free of nuclear weapon.
