Press Conference by Mr. Marzuki Darusman,
Special Rapporteur on the Situation of the Human Rights in the DPRK
The Special Rapporteur, Mr. Marzuki Darusman, will visit Japan from 25 to 29 January 2011 to gather information on the human rights situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). He will meet government representatives, UN representatives, NGOs and families of victims abducted by the DPRK.
Mr. Darusman will speak at the Japan National Press Club on Friday 28 January, providing an interim report on his findings. Mr. Darusman, a former Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, assumed the current post in August 2010.
