Press Conference by Mr. Doudou Diene,
Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights

Mr. Doudou Diene (Senegal), United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrrimination and xenophobia and related intolerance, will visit Japan early this month on an official mission.On this occasion, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC Tokyo) will host a press conference as follows:

Date/Time: Monday 11 July at 15:00 hours (for about one hour)

Biography of Mr. Doudou Diene

 

Mr. Doudou Dienen (Senegal) was appointed by the Commission on Human Rights as Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in 2002. Mr. Diene is also Vice President of the International Council of Social Sciences and Philosophy and is a member of the International Council of Auroville. Between 1993 and 2002, Mr. Diene held the post of Director of the Division of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, UNESCO, during which time he worked on various projects on intercultural dialogue, including the Routes of Faith. He is the author of numerous publications and has chaired and been the distinguished guest on various panels.
